Overprotective Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) is to embarrass his daughter Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) in EastEnders next week as she befriends other teens on the square.
Cystic fibrosis sufferer Jade has recently returned to Walford to live with her estranged dad after receiving a life saving lung transplant, and so far has only fostered a relationship with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) who has taken pity on the girl.
She’s spent several years living with her mum Shabnam (Rakhee Thakrar), who originally placed her up for adoption.
Dean eventually gained custody of her, but had to give her up when he was arrested for the attempted rape of Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons).
Despite their estranged relationship, Dean still cares deeply for his daughter and in upcoming scenes is scornful towards her for walking around the neighbourhood in the cold, still recovering from her transplant.
She’s already injured herself once in the last month, with Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) causing a stir that ended up with Jade taking a nasty fall on Bridge Street.
Concerned that she sat lonely indoors all day with no friends in the area, Jean encourages Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) to reach out to her.
