Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has gone into labour in EastEnders – while trapped in a taco van.

Of course.

In tonight’s (May 15) episode of the BBC One soap, it was the day of Whit and Zack’s (James Farrar) sten do.

As Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and Zack put the decorations together in the pub, Whit arrived and faced Bianca (Patsy Palmer). Whitney’s relationship with Bianca is in a difficult place currently after she learnt items for her wedding had been stolen by her and Britney (Lola Campbell) from the market.

Bothered by the fact Lauren was now maid of honour, Bianca told her to tell Whitney about sleeping with Zack, or she would.

As the Walford residents started to arrive at the pub in their fancy dress, a guilty Lauren entered the kitchen and alluded to Whitney that she had something on her mind.

Unable to tell her best friend about the betrayal, Lauren ended up telling Whitney that she deserves someone better than Zack.

Later, after Penny (Kitty Castledine) discovered something was up between Lauren and Whit, she intervened by locking them inside Bianca’s taco van.

Penny happily left Lauren and Whitney to it, adamant they would sort their differences out in the end.

With no other option, they started to talk. However, just as Lauren told Whitney that Zack is a liar, it looked as though she was going to confess the truth to her best friend.

And then Whit’s waters broke!

The episode ended with Lauren shouting to be let out of the van and in these new pictures, things aren’t looking hopeful.

With Whitney no doubt panicking she’s going to welcome her child next to some grated cheese and dried taco shells, Lauren is seen trying to reassure her friend.

Outside the van, we see Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) and Zack in a car, with Walford residents behind the vehicle.

They are clearly rallying together in Whit’s hour of need – but will she give birth in the van, or at the hospital?

We know these scenes will air ahead of Shona McGarty’s exit from EastEnders, who is saying goodbye to the role of Whitney Dean after 16 years.
