As if The Six weren’t already close to breaking point following Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder, a new development in recent EastEnders scenes was enough to drive them even closer to the edge.

The Six gathered in Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) living room for desperate crisis talks after learning that the café floor may need replacing.

Viewers will know that Keanu’s body is buried deep beneath the café – along with Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) iconic ‘D’ necklace – and the women have been counting on him not being discovered.

However, as Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) broke the news that that may be about to happen, it hit particularly hard for struggling Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Denise.

As Denise feared that she was set to spend the rest of her life behind bars, Linda couldn’t help but think of how Keanu’s family would react to his body being discovered.

Though Stacey insisted that they stick to their story and hope for the best, Linda declared that she couldn’t stay in Albert Square and watch Bernie and Karen Taylor (Clair Norris and Lorraine Stanley) go through what she had experienced after losing Mick.

Stacey was quick to argue that running away wouldn’t help, before sharing her own experience of going on the run following Archie Mitchell’s murder.

Viewers will remember the iconic whodunnit storyline that led to Stacey being revealed as Archie’s killer, moments after Bradley Branning fell from the roof of the Queen Vic while trying to escape police.

Following her confession to Max Branning, she was later chased out of the Square by Janine Butcher, before spending years on the run.

Determined to get Linda to see things from her point of view, Stacey pointed out that her kids needed her to stick around, especially given that Mick is no longer around.

She argued that running wouldn’t solve anything, and that Linda needed to stick around and see things through.

However, with Linda having later accepted the opportunity to leave Albert Square behind and join Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) on holiday, is she set to ignore Stacey’s advice?
