EastEnders spoilers: Kathy Beale is hit with despair after getting bad news about Rocky Cotton

Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) has had a rough few months in EastEnders, but her friends are determined to rally around her as things get even tougher in upcoming scenes.

Things started to go downhill for Kathy when her beloved café was burnt down back in November, and she was subsequently arrested for arson.

Husband Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) fortunately came to her rescue, but when Kathy was forced to sell the caff to Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), the horrible truth came out and she realised that it was Rocky who was behind it all.

Following their breakup, things only got worse when Kathy found herself implicated in Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder, after witnessing Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stab him and agreeing to help hide the body.

However, their plan was put in jeopardy when it became clear that Rocky had witnessed their suspicious movements that night, and began asking questions that could get them all in serious trouble.

In a bid to get him off their case, Kathy made a huge sacrifice in reporting him for the café fire.

Rocky was then arrested and has been in custody ever since.

In upcoming scenes, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) will reach out to Kathy ahead of Rocky’s sentencing by inviting her round for dinner, hoping to take her mind off Rocky’s potential fate.

On the day of the sentencing, Sonia and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) treat Kathy to a boozy brunch in a bid to cheer her up, but will it work?

With Rocky’s history, he is anticipating a long stretch behind bars, but will the judge be lenient?

And if the worst does happen, will Kathy be able to live with herself for turning him in?
