Just when EastEnders viewers thought Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Phil (Steve McFadden) were set to give her relationship another go, it appears that another Mitchell may be on her mind.

In next week’s trip to Walford, Sharon appears to have a new admirer as Teddy, Harry (Elijah Holloway) and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) find their feet in Albert Square. The new Mitchell trio arrived in the BBC One soap this week as Stevie Mitchell’s (Alan Ford) secret family, and they waste no time in getting to know the locals.

After a messy Mitchell drinking session at the gym leaves Sharon unimpressed, Teddy, played by Roland Manookian, attempts to win her over with an invitation for a drink and some smooth talking.

Teddy and Sharon engage in a playful drink, which earns a suspicious glance from Stevie who is uncomfortable with his son’s interaction with Phil’s ex.

Across the Square, the youngsters gear up for a boxing tournament but Nugget (Juhaim Choudhury) is left needing medical care before the fight even starts. The worrying event unfolds when Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) teases Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati who flies off the handle at him.

But as Tommy and Nugget come to blows, Zack Hudson (James Farrar) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) pull the lads apart while Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) urges his pal to calm down before people cotton on about their steroid taking.

Convinced they are on something, Zack puts up a ‘drugs test’ sign at the Boxing Den leaving gym obsessed Denzel freaked out unaware it’s just a deterrent.

Elsewhere, Nuggets mum Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) has been ordering things on Suki Panesar’s (Balvinder Sopal) credit card without asking.

This sparks worried Avani (Aaliyah James) to issue a warning to her mum not to compromise their situation through foolishness.

Priya rashly decides to make dying Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) an offer to secure her family’s future. But when Denzel is a no-show at the boxing, Nugget goes looking for him but falls ill so heads to No.41 for help.

Inside, oblivious Priya and Nish are finalising their ‘deal’ before Nugget slumps down onto the pavement outside. Avani soon bursts into the Panesar’s and disturbs the pair declaring Nugget has collapsed.

Meanwhile, following a pep talk from Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) Denzel heads to the tournament and wins his match, unaware that Nugget is in danger.

Nugget is rushed to hospital where Priya and Ravi are inconsolable, but are soon shocked when they receive an update about their son’s condition.

In the waiting room, Dr Miller tells Nugget’s family that his kidneys aren’t working properly and asks if he’s been taking drugs, which they refute.

But Ravi takes Dr Miller aside to share Zack’s suspicions about steroids. Ravi and Priya start arguing about their parenting failures but end up leaning on each other for support. However, Priya is floored when Dr Miller comes returns to say that Ravi was right – Nugget has been taking steroids.

Later in the week, Nugget regains consciousness but the ordeal isn’t over. Priya and Ravi are devastated when the doctors say his kidneys are not responding and he may need long-term dialysis.

The police also arrive and press Nugget to confess who supplied the drugs, but he won’t say. When alone with Priya, Nish reminds her of their arrangement.

Back in Albert Square, Denzel is horrified to hear what’s happened to Nugget and starts to panic. Howie (Delroy Atkinson) goes looking for his son, so Denzel hides at The Boxing Den to avoid him but Zack finds him

As Nugget’s health lies in the balance – will he make a full recovery? And will he own up to Denzel being his steroid supplier?

Elsewhere, Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) might think he’s found a new friend in Maya Houssain (Bharti Patel), but there’s a shock incident in EastEnders next week that confirms she hasn’t exactly been telling the truth.

On Monday (July 1), Harvey and partner Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) are settling in for a romantic evening when he receives a message from Maya.

Making an excuse, Harvey slips out to meet Maya, who reveals she’s selling her home to pay her debts. However, their meeting is witnessed by Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), and he soon reports back what he’s seen to Jean, who fears Harvey is doing the dirty on her.

After Maya leaves, Harvey finds she’s dropped a letter addressed to her, and notices the address isn’t the area of London where she told him she lived.

Heading to the address, a curious Harvey knocks the door. But when he hears a crash coming from inside the house, he rushes in and is stunned to come face-to-face with a distressed man.

Many fans believe Maya is the wife of a taxi driver – who also had the surname Houssain – who Aaron Monroe and his gang attacked back in 2021, leaving him seriously injured. Is the past coming back to haunt Harvey?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
