EastEnders spoilers: The community rushes to help as Jean Slater is hit with new struggle

Recent EastEnders scenes have seen Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) take Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) under her wing, and she is soon set to get the whole community involved in helping her.

Jade came to stay with dad Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) following a lung transplant, after growing tired of mum Shabnam’s overprotective nature.

Days into her stay, she was involved in an accident on the market, where Jean was on hand to help her.

From then on, the pair formed somewhat of a connection as Jean regularly popped in to keep her company, as well as encouraging the other Walford teens to befriend her.

Recently, Jade made plans to hold a charity auction, though in upcoming scenes she decides that she should cancel.

However, Jean doesn’t want to see her hard work go to waste, and steps in at the last moment to save the day, though there is lots to do in not a lot of time.

Unfortunately, she hits a stumbling block when she struggles with a lack of donations for the auction.

Luckily, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Paster Clayton (Howard Saddler) catch wind of Jean’s plight and soon step in to help out.

Yolande reaches out to the prayer group for donations to the auction, and Jean is thrilled when she and Pastor Clayton arrive with a whole host of great stuff to auction off.

Jade’s charity auction comes ahead of her move to Pakistan with Shabnam – something which Dean is eager to prevent.

In horrifying recent scenes, Dean took sick action against Jade in order to make her too sick to travel, by emptying her antibiotics and leaving just the shell for her to take.

With Jean taking a keen interest in Jade’s wellbeing, will she catch on to Dean’s evil actions?
