EastEnders The Six mystery blackmail twist ‘sealed’ – and it’s nothing to do with Dean
EastEnders favourite Keanu Taylor was murdered on Christmas Day and was secretly buried by The Six but social media users have "worked out" a huge blackmail twist
EastEnders fans are convinced that The Six are set to be blackmailed about the night of Keanu Taylor’s murder by an unlikely resident.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) killed Keanu on Christmas Day 2023 as he attacked Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) after finding out that he was not the biological father of her son Albie on their wedding day.
Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylorth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) all witnessed the murder and the six women later buried his body under the floor of Kathy’s Café, which has since been taken over by Suki’s ex Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdry).
In recent scenes, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) returned to Walford to find out what exactly happened to her son Keanu after previously fleeing Walford with Phil Mitchel’s (Steve McFadden) money. Her daughter Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) is the only remaining Taylor family member currently living in Albert Sqaure and one eagled-eyed fan think she could be responsible for exposed The Six.
Speaking on Reddit in r/eastenders user fearlesshuh penned: “Theory: Benrie knows Keanu is dead and is plotting something. This is something I’ve considered for a while but recent episodes have made me more convinced. I think there’s a bigger picture as to why the writers got rid of the Taylors but kept Bernie around. When Keanu was killed, they made the audience to believe Dean Wicks (or someone) was still in the pub and the back door was left ajar. It hasn’t been mentioned since. This will come into use later.
“We know Bernie was the one who told Phil what Keanu had done and she had been uninvited to the wedding (despite her trying to forgive Keanu after cutting him off). Keanu went to the pub to get Albie because Bernie suggested Sharon might call the police on him, and I think she followed after him. I believe Bernie had gone to the Vic to find Keanu since she knew the wedding reception would’ve been there and was there when Linda killed Keanu. She probably blamed herself since exposing himself lead to what happened.
“Ever since, Bernie has subtly saved The Six by convenience, such as believing the story of how Keanu held them hostage and not questioning it, stopping Kathy from ringing the police on Karen, telling Karen it is best for her to not stir up more trouble and to leave. She now definitely has a reason to stick around in Walford: because she knows what happened to Keanu.
“I think she is plotting somehow to get back at The Six in her own way. She managed to persuade Nish for her job back at the cafe. Maybe because she knows Keanu is buried there? Nish is also her boss now and he was part of what happened at Christmas. Keanu and Nish argued over Bernie before his death. Bernie ‘accidentally’ played a voice note of Keanu at the cafe reopening, something she may have done on purpose to get a reaction out of Kathy, Stacey and Suki and even Nish who were there.
The writers made a point throughout 2023 making Bernie into a nosey busybody who gossips about others, but I think this is secretly her strong suit which she will use to avoid detection from the women. I believe eventually The Six will be blackmailed by someone, maybe anonymously? I was thinking along the lines of Pretty Little Liars.
“I think Dean will be an obvious suspect of theirs and they’ll somehow find out he was in the pub before what happened with Keanu, so they’ll be convinced it’s him. It’ll turn out to be Bernie who followed after Keanu to the pub. Linda put the murder weapon in a box under her bed and I bet it’ll end up missing because Bernie has gotten ahold of it.”
Zealousideal-Key2925 replied: “I like this theory! And it is actually believable, except for Bernie’s not shown any suspicion or emotions to prove this theory……it could still be plausible! I really like Bernie I think she’s a good character to the show.” Parking_Age_1496 added: “This is a good theory. I wonder if the same way we had a flash forward we will get a flash back when all is revealed!”
