EastEnders viewers point out ‘brilliant’ Suki Panesar detail as Nish’s fate is revealed
The Panesar's were not expecting 'evil' Nish to be telling the truth about his ill health
EastEnders confirmed the truth behind Nish Panesar’s claim that he is dying during Tuesday’s episode of the BBC soap (May 28), and his ex-wife Suki couldn’t hide her delight.
On Monday (May 27), Nish returned to Walford and continued to try and make up with his family following their fallout earlier this year. The baddie confirmed he handed Suki their divorce papers and insisted he spend quality time with his family because of ill health. But of course, no one believed anything he had to say.
But during Tuesday’s (May 28) trip to the Square, Nish claimed that he was terminally ill due to a virus that was causing his heart to fail and that it would eventually kill him. His words found no pity with his ex-wife and sons Ravi and Vinny who all assumed he was lying to get back in the family home and he was forced to leave once more.
Later, Nish paid a visit to the café and checked in on Bernadette Taylor and gave his condolences for her loss of brother Keanu Taylor. Bernie thanked Nish for his words and encouraged him to make amends with his family as there’s nothing more important.
Nish attempted to appeal to Ravi’s ex and his former ally Priya Nandra-Hart but she too was unsympathetic and soon received back-up from Ravi when he arrived. Tracking down his grandson, Nish headed to McKlunky’s and asked to speak to Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati for his support.
But Ravi soon interrupted their conversation and in a rage, he grabbed Nish and slammed him against a wall. Nish tried to get up but he was left in severe pain on the floor and clutching his chest.
Nugget demanded his dad to call an ambulance and later at the hospital, Suki showed up alongside son Vinny as the family waited to hear an update. A doctor confirmed that Nish was indeed telling the truth about being terminally ill and that his heart was failing at a quicker rate than doctors anticipated after being diagnosed with viral myocarditis.
The doctor told Nish that unless he gets a heart transplant, which is very difficult to come by, he will die sooner rather than later. As Nish was broken by the news as he thought he had more time to live the rest of the family looked shocked by the news, except Suki who appeared to be pleased by Nish’s diagnosis as she smirked to herself.
Suk’s reaction to her dying ex-husband’s despair appeared to have amused viewers with one EastEnders fan writing on X: “Suki’s reaction to Nish dying is class. Him claiming he was dying may have been true but even to him it was nearer than he thought!! #Sukeve #EastEnders.”
A second simply stated: “Suki smirking at the end.. #EastEnders”, while a third chimed in with: “Suki’s smile after hearing the news from the doctor #EastEnders.”
“Suki casually smirking while everyone else is upset,” exclaimed one fan followed by a laughing face emoji. “Howling at that sly smirk on Suki’s face,” added another.
