George has been spiralling out of control in the wake of his mum's death and everything he has learned about his childhood in recent months
GEORGE Knight gets devastating news about his mum Gloria in EastEnders.
The Queen Vic landlord has had a difficult few months after learning the truth about his heritage and birth parents.
George – played by Colin Salmon – discovered he had been part of a baby farming scheme, before being left horrified to learn that he witnessed his adoptive dad Eddie kill his birth father in a racist attack when he was a teen.
Earlier this month, Eddie faced trial over the death of George’s real dad, and it put further strain on his relationship with his adoptive mum, Gloria.
It all became too much for Gloria, and she collapsed outside the courtroom, before passing away in hospital with George by her side.
Following her death, Eddie called George from prison and and asked him to meet to discuss Gloria.
During a vicious showdown, Eddie and George traded wounding words, which send George deeper into despair.
Later, unable to contain his fury about Eddie banning him from Gloria’s funeral, George headed to the underground boxing club only to be stopped by a concerned Phil.
George wouldn’t listen as Phil begged him not to fight, and ended up getting knocked out.
George tried to make some headway against Eddie, but a knockback sent him spiralling again.
Coming up, George’s daughter Anna speaks to Eddie against her families wishes.
She discovers that Gloria’s funeral took place the day before, and she worries about breaking the news to George considering everything that’s happened lately.
Will the news send George spiralling even further?
