Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) faced the wrath of Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) in recent EastEnders scenes after endangering Charli Slater.

The cab driver has been putting in extra shifts at work in a bid to provide for Maya Houssain (Bharti Patel), who’s husband was left seriously injured after a racist attack by Harvey’s son Aaron.

This has left partner Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) frustrated, as she barely gets to spend any time with him and is left wondering where all of the money is going.

In tonight’s episode, she revealed her concern to Harvey after he failed to come home from his airport run the previous night.

He explained that he had kept working in order to provide for her family, and Jean was left upset that he didn’t also consider the Slaters his family.

Later, Harvey returned home to apologise, but Jean was nowhere to be seen. Instead, he explained to Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) what had happened and that he hadn’t meant it.

In a bid to make amends, Harvey offered to pick baby Charli up from nursery so that Stacey could spend the day with Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) at the lido.

Unfortunately, disaster struck when Harvey, exhausted from his night of work, fell asleep with Charli in the back of the boiling hot car.

Luckily, Jack wandered past and noticed, and was quick to wake Harvey up, just as Stacey and Lily arrived.

With Lily concerned about her baby’s health, they rushed Charli to hospital, where the doctor revealed that she could have died if she’d been in the car ten minutes longer.

Harvey felt terrible, and offered to take them home, but Jack was quick to lash out, demanding that he wouldn’t be going anywhere near Charli again.

Will Harvey be able to make it up to the family after his mistake, and what will Jean make of everything that’s happened?
