Viewers of the BBC One soap will of course remember that the infant was born last September to parents Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Ricky Branning (Frankie Day).

Lily’s mum Stacey (Lacey Turner) was overjoyed when it seemed that the teens had named baby Charli as a fitting tribute to her much-missed uncle Charlie (Derek Martin), but they’d actually been inspired by pop star Charli XCX.

The last few months in the Slater household have been somewhat eventful – Stacey has been hiding her involvement in the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).

Meanwhile, (Gillian Wright) has become suspicious about her boyfriend Harvey’s new friend Maya Houssain (Bharti Patel).

We’ve since learnt that Maya’s husband was injured in a far right attack by Harvey’s son Aaron. He’s yet to come clean to Jean with the truth, and has instead been supporting Maya financially.

After initially being warned about their blossoming friendship by concerned family, she’s finally starting to doubt Harvey’s loyalty to her.

In upcoming scenes, he’s spent the night away from home and Jean demands to know where he’s been.

He remains adamant that he couldn’t clock off from his shift because more fares kept coming in, so he took them to earn more money.

Realising that he has a lot of making up to do, and in a bid to get back into Jean’s good books, he offers to help Stacey out by picking Charli up from nursery.

However, later, he falls asleep in the hot car forgetting about the baby asleep in the back.

Luckily, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) spots them in the nick of time and they rush to the hospital.

With Harvey in despair and his relationship with Jean hanging by a thread, will he be able to recover from this?
