EastEnders fans are asking if Dean Wicks is leaving the BBC soap, following a major twist amid Keanu Taylor’s murder being revealed.

Keanu’s body was found last week, and Walford residents learned about his shock demise on Christmas Day. Of course a number of residents already knew his true fate, with The Six being involved in his death and the burial of his body under the café floor.

Linda Carter stabbed and killed Keanu with a meat thermometer, after he tried to strangle Sharon Watts. Suki Panesar, Denise Fox, Kathy Beale and Stacey Slater covered up the crime and buried the corpse, with Johnny Carter and Jack Branning also knowing the truth.

But in the latest episode, there were hints to a major exit without it being revealed in spoilers. Amid Dean plotting to flee Walford with his daughter Jade, and then finding himself at risk of being framed, could he be exiting the show for good?

Linda was panicked after fearing she would finally face punishment for her crime, but The Six appear to have other ideas. But in true soap style, ahead of Linda handing herself in, the latter and Stacey witnessed a nasty argument between Dean and Harvey Monroe where Harvey exposed Dean for messing with his daughter Jade’s medication.

Dean, who is secretly planning on moving to America with Jade, got nasty which prompted Linda to step in as she bravely stood up to her rapist. Linda said: “Any decent person would have the courage to face up to what they’ve done” to which vile Dean replied with: “Oh give it up Linda, like you gave it up back then…”

As Linda was supported by her loved ones, Dean warned: “Can’t touch me, any of you!” as he hinted he was leaving Albert Square tomorrow. As a smug Dean walked away, Harvey shared his frustrations with Stacey, pointing out “men like that” never face consequences and they continue to get away with torturing women, arguing: “Where is the justice?”

This gave Stacey food for thought and later when Linda prepared to hand herself in, Kathy revealed that they were instead setting up Dean. It then showed Stacey in Dean’s flat with the murder weapon as she prepared to plant it. Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out if the women do frame Dean and if the plan is a success – but could this be a permanent exit for the character?
