Hallucinations and dark thoughts have plagued Denise Fox since the sinister demise of Keanu Taylor which took place on Christmas Day in The Queen Vic.

Her mental health spiralled in recent weeks while a blissfully unaware Jack Branning (portrayed by Scott Maslen) has left their fragile union head towards the rocks as he embarked on an affair with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

Unbeknownst to him, Stacey was also involved in the crime that has almost managed to push Denise over the edge.

The hairstylist played by Diane Parish was recently sectioned as her psychosis symptoms took over.

Coming up on BBC One, Jack struggles to deal with the fallout of Denise’s breakdown and sectioning.

After bumping into her daughter Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams), Jack decides to pay Denise a visit, but she refuses to see him and he returns to the Square to seek comfort from Stacey.

Unfortunately, the illicit romance is getting on Suki Panesar’s (Balvinder Sopal) nerves, particularly after she demanded that the bap van owner ended it.

However, in other scenes, Suki fumes at Stacey for putting them all at risk once again by calling the doctors for Denise.

Stacey insists Denise doesn’t know where the murder weapon is, but Suki isn’t convinced.

This prompts her to ask Stacey to cosy up to Jack for any information Denise might be spilling.

Before Jack goes to see Denise, Stacey takes the opportunity to tell him to ignore any of Denise’s ramblings – will he listen?

While this remains to be seen, Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) is deflated when Chelsea reveals that Denise isn’t doing as well as Jack has led her to believe.

What can they do to help?

Recent scenes of the London-based drama have shown Denise Fox confess to being involved in Keanu’s death to her former husband, Lucas Johnson.

The serial killer is serving a prison sentence and Denise paid him a handful of visits to ask him for guidance, eager to know how he was able to live with the crimes he’s committed.

But Denise isn’t the only member of the Six to have come clean as Linda Carter also turned to her son Johnny to tell him the shocking truth.

Johnny agreed to keep the secret in order to protect Linda but could the Six, who are missing Sharon Watts, be caught out anyway because of Denise’s confession?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
