Joe Swash shares devastating family post as fans praise him for ‘keeping it real’
Former EastEnders star Joe Swash has been keeping his fans updated online with his culinary skills and has been inundated with support after sharing a heartbreaking family post
Joe Swash has certainly been making waves on social media, as fans rush in to show their support for his latest culinary efforts.
The telly face has recently turned his hand to offering up scrumptious video content for his previously under-utilised Instagram page, all in an effort to give his wife Stacey Solomon a run for her money online. The ex-EastEnders star has started sharing a delightful array of family flicks on his social media – and even kicked off his own little cooking series.
In it, he’s seen rustling up delectable meals for his loved ones in their whimsically named home, Pickle Cottage – a fun moniker conjured up by Stacey for their beloved brood. His most recent video shares the creation process of an ever-popular family classic toad in the hole.
The 42-year-old takes viewers through each step, managing to showcase the end result despite his mid-cook panic that things had gone awry. Taking to his caption, Joe enthuses: “Said goodbye to my air fryer for this one… My take on Toad In The Hole! A comforting classic.”
His fans were quick to respond with heartening words, their fingers crossed in hopes that he’ll continue to turn his kitchen adventures into social media fodder. One fan praised: “Great to see you posting more things and also keeping it real.”
A second suggested: “Someone give this man his own cookery show. This is genius!” While a third exclaimed: “Ohhh Joe… This made my day, fantastic! End result is bangin’, excellent.”

This follows after Joe recently opened-up to his fans about the loss of his father. On Father’s Day, Stacey celebrated Joe as a fantastic dad and shared several videos of him with their children throughout the years, from newborns in home birth to toddler beach outings and enjoyable family dinners.
In a heartfelt message, Stacey addressed her 5.9 million followers about her husband’s late father, Ricky, and how proud he would be of the father Joe has become.
Accompanying her poignant black and white video memory montage, which she shared with the Jessica Baio song ‘Someday’, Stacey told her other half: “I never got to meet your dad. But he must have been the best dad in the world to have created you.”
She further complimented: “Honestly Joe, you do your dad proud every single minute of every day. You’re the most incredible father. We are the luckiest. To the moon and back Joe Joe.”
Joe was a mere 12 years old when his father Ricky tragically passed away at the age of 39 from an undiagnosed heart condition known as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. He has previously confessed that the subsequent three or four years, witnessing his mother’s struggle to cope with the loss of her husband, were the most challenging of his life.
Stacey’s reference to Joe’s dad seemingly sparked comments directed at the former EastEnders star, which he addressed in a social media post on Tuesday (June 18). Joe shared a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a lovely photo of Ricky, as well as snapshots of him with Joe and his siblings during their childhood.
In the caption, he wrote: “Some people have asked about my dad over Father’s Day and why I didn’t post.. I lost my dad when I was 12 and It’s still something I haven’t quite got over still. BUT this is my dad Ricky! the BEST DAD EVER! ! ” The post quickly garnered a flood of love and support in the comments section.
