After months of flirting, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) is to finally make a move on Callum Highway (Tony Clay) in EastEnders next week.

Ballum fans, take a deep breath…

The two characters have already been seen together quite a lot since Johnny returned to Albert Square earlier this year, with some fans wondering whether a relationship is blossoming between the pair.

Callum is, of course, still struggling with the fact his husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has been extradited to a US prison for committing fraud.

This brought an end to Bowden’s five years in the role.

A few weeks ago, with Callum determined to find out who really murdered Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day, Johnny quickly rushed to protect his killer mum Linda (Kellie Bright) and suggested he was focussing too much on the case as a coping mechanism.

In upcoming scenes, Ben’s mum Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) and half-brother Ian (Adam Woodyatt) travel to the States to visit him – and Callum is disappointed when he can’t join them.

Unable to get the time off work, Johnny thinks up a plan to cheer him up, hopingthat Callum will be able to let off some steam and open up about his feelings.

Later in the week, he’s dealt a further blow when he realises that he’s missed a phone call from Ben and turns to Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) for support.

Over a drink, she provides a much-needed shoulder to cry on and advises him that he should consider moving on and enjoy life – and take Johnny up on his offer of a night out.

However, things quickly turn sour when he heads to the bar and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) makes a cheeky off the cuff comment about how quickly he’s moved on, leaving Callum horrified.

Will he cancel on Johnny, or take note of Honey’s advice?
