Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) affair with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) has caused utter chaos in Albert Square since it was revealed earlier this week, but the trouble is far from over in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
One person who is no stranger to a Branning affair is Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), who was at the centre of exposing Stacey’s affair with Max on Christmas Day in 2007.
This was something that Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) couldn’t help but make a dig about in recent scenes, while Lauren complained that Stacey and Jack’s adultery had become the talk of the Square.
Stacey and Jack have been seeing each other behind Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) back since before Christmas, but it was Stacey’s decision to call things off that actually resulted in them being caught out.
It was as they were sharing a kiss goodbye that Martin Fowler (James Bye) arrived home and caught them, leaving Stacey with no choice but to explain what was going on.
Despite initially deciding to keep quiet about what he’d learnt, Martin soon revealed all to Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), who wasted no time in confronting them.
It was then that a huge argument erupted, with Chelsea slapping Stacey and Jack and Martin going head to head.
It seems that Jack has been avoiding his relatives since his violent brawl with Martin over the betrayal, though in upcoming scenes they are finally set to come face to face.
When Penny and Lauren interrupt a tense interaction between Stacey and Jack at Peggy’s, a row breaks out as they make their disgust clear.
Having put up with countless instances of adultery among the Brannings, will Lauren and Penny be able to forgive Jack, or is this one time too many?
