Major EastEnders theory ‘confirms’ who mystery Maya is – and it’s sinister
Recent EastEnders scenes have seen Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) befriend a woman called Maya Hussain (Bharti Patel), after Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) urged him to make some new friends, and fans think they’ve worked out who she really is.
Poor Harvey hasn’t really known what to do with himself since the exits of best friends Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) and Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley), so Maya waltzed into his life at just the right time.
The pair were quick to bond over their love of football, but disaster struck when Harvey lost Maya’s number.
However, all was not lost, as he soon managed to bribe Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) into helping him track her down on social media.
Unfortunately, Maya didn’t take kindly to being ‘stalked’ on social media, but apologetic Harvey managed to win her back round by taking her out for cocktails, though he was left shocked to later find that she had deleted her social media.
During their conversation over drinks, Maya opened up to Harvey about how her husband had recently passed away – which got viewers thinking.
When Harvey asked Tommy to help look for Maya online, he revealed that her surname was Hussain – a name that will be familiar to EastEnders fans.
Back in 2021, Harvey’s son Aaron Monroe was involved in a far-right gang who targeted numerous people in racial hate crimes. One of their victims was a taxi driver called Mr Hussain, who thankfully survived the incident, but was left seriously injured.
After tipping Harvey for dropping her back off in Albert Square, Maya confirmed that her husband used to be a cabby, sparking suspicion from fans that he may have been the man Harvey’s son attacked.
Taking to social media, one fan wondered if Maya was plotting revenge after what happened to him.
Aaron has since been sent to prison in Newcastle for attempting to plant a bomb in the disused Argee Bhajee, but could Maya be keen to get justice herself?
