Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) recent comments have sent EastEnders fans into hysterics online, following a misunderstanding with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
Poor Martin got more than he bargained for when he arrived to his date with Priya and found Ravi already there.
The misunderstanding stemmed from the fact that he too was carrying flowers, with Martin automatically assuming that they were both there for the same reason.
What he didn’t realise, however, was that Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) had told Ravi that Priya was ill, and he had simply come round to make sure she was okay.
Overwhelmed by the prospect of forming a throuple, Martin admitted that he wasn’t into ‘group stuff’ before promptly leaving.
Priya and Ravi were left confused, but when the realisation dawned on them, Priya was gutted.
Fans were quick to take to social media after Martin’s hilarious comment, with many of them in hysterics.
Twitter/X user Daniel could see how Martin got confused, pointing out that both he and Ravi had brought flowers.
Meanwhile, other users were quite keen on the idea of a Martin, Priya and Ravi throuple, with Nic pointing out that Australian soap Neighbours had done a similar thing.
The Australian soap was the first to explore polyamory with characters Amy Greenwood, Ned Willis and Levi Canning back in 2021.
It doesn’t look like EastEnders is set to follow suit with these three, given Martin’s reaction, but could he and Priya still make it work?
