Phil (Steve McFadden) and Teddy (Roland Manookian) compete for head of the Mitchell clan in EastEnders next week – but there’s an unexpected twist.

We learnt this week that Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) was hiding a secret family – Teddy, and his sons Harry (Elijah Holloway) and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).

This means that Billy (Perry Fenwick) has a half-brother he never knew about, and two nephews. Surprisingly, it’s not Billy that comes to blows with the new additions – but Phil.

With the scandal surrounding Will’s (Freddie Phillips) blackmail plaguing the family, Billy tells them about an appointment he had at Walford High with Honey (Emma Barton) to sort it out.

Unfortunately, twisted school boy Kyle’s father Kevin has threatened them with legal action and Phil promises to sort it. Teddy has other ideas, and suggests a more careful approach to the situation.

Stevie asserts that his son should stop threatening Phil’s position as head of the fam, so Teddy tries to make peace and invites him to a darts match.

Later, at No. 18, Billy bonds with his estranged bro and takes his advance on how to handle Will, leading to an emotional heart to heart between father and son.

Back at The Vic, Teddy makes a huge show of having to bow down to Phil, but the men all head to The Boxing Den for a lock-in so that they can get to know one another better.

Despite the earlier clashing, the two blokes seem to hit it off and Billy is unsettled by their newfound friendship.

It also seems that they’ll soon have eyes for the same woman, as Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) fumes at them for leaving the gym in a state – forcing Teddy to try and win her round with some flirting and an offer of a drink.

Perhaps their kinship seemed too good to be true?
