Having fleeced Walford’s most notorious criminal, EastEnders’ Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) has so far managed pretty well to not get himself roughed up – or worse.

That might be about to change this week, however, as Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) issues him with a chilling threat.

As fans of the BBC soap know, Reiss conned Phil and business partner Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) into investing into a fake scheme, when in reality, he was pocketing the cash to pay off his mounting debts.

Having already smelled a rat, Phil has made multiple demands for his money to be returned, but Reiss’ delay tactics have so far kept Albert Square’s resident hardman at bay.

With his patience now wearing thin, Phil summons Reiss to the Boxing Den and demands his money by Monday – or else.

But with Reiss not currently having a spare penny to rub together, how will he manage to cough up?

Phil might be the least of Reiss’ worries however, as the fallout from his wife Debbie’s death continues.

Last month saw Reiss smother his Debbie – who had been in a coma since suffering a stroke years prior – to death, as he took deadly action to clear his money problems.

However, her parents Brenda and Hugh Collins (Nichola McAuliffe and Michael Bertenshaw) have become convinced there was foul play, having learned how he’d been stealing from Debbie’s account to pay for his and partner Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) IVF treatment.

The couple are now keeping another big secret from their friends and family, after getting engaged but agreeing to keep it quiet in a bid to stop the local gossips.

With so many plates in the air, just how long can Reiss keep them all spinning?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday 15 August at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
