Danielle, 31, played Lola Pearce in EastEnders before being written out of the soap last year in a heartbreaking brain cancer storyline.

During Danielle’s appearance on the show, which will air this Sunday, she brought up the fact Ross’ character Grant Mitchell was actually Lola’s uncle.

He asked her: “Danielle, you’ve had a massive storyline in EastEnders. Saying goodbye to Lola must have been tough?”

She replied: “Yeah, it was really difficult. A big family storyline.

“I was actually waiting for a visit from my Uncle Grant, but…”

Ross then joked about what might Grant be up to now, having last appeared in 2016 as part of the late Barbara Windsor’s exit storyline.

He revealed: “Uncle Grant? I think he was on the beach in Portugal mixing cocktails, probably. Or drinking them!”

Bridge of Lies was launched by Beeb bosses in 2022 and instantly became a hit with fans.

It sees a group of contestants take turns to cross a digital floor that gradually displays both correct and incorrect answers for a particular category.

Contestants try to step on only correct answers during the game to avoid falling off and could go home empty-handed.

Celebrity Bridge of Lies airs on BBC One and iPlayer at 5:40pm on Saturday 13 April; Bridge of Lies continues weekdays at 4:30pm.

Simon Gregson, Chris Bisson and Lucy Jo Hudson also appear on this Sunday's episode
