Sharon Watts’ fate ‘sealed’ by one of her closest friends in crushing betrayal in EastEnders

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is facing a horrifying fate after being arrested for Keanu Taylor’s murder in EastEnders, and one of her closest friends could have played a huge part in getting her sent down.

Keanu was stabbed to death by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) on Christmas Day, and the rest of The Six made a pact to help her hide the body.

However, Sharon made a quick getaway to Australia to avoid having to face Keanu’s body again – something that has made her look much guiltier now that his body has been found.

With Sharon and Keanu having had a huge fallout on Christmas Day, police pointed out that she had a clear motive for his murder.

Solicitor Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), who knows the truth about the events of that fateful night, was quick to point out that they had little evidence pointing to Sharon being the killer – though he was left shocked when police pulled out some more evidence.

They revealed that they had information on the tarpaulin that Keanu’s body had been found wrapped in, and explained that Sharon’s close friend Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) had told them it was stolen.

Back on the Square, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) berated Ian for talking to the police, pointing out that it looked suspicious.

Ian, however, insisted that they had nothing to hide, and pointed out that it looked less suspicious if the police found out from them and not someone else.

By trying to clear his own name, has Ian unintentionally sealed his best friend’s fate?

Elsewhere, Suki Panesar and Kathy Beale (Balvinder Sopal and Gillian Taylforth) didn’t exactly have high hopes, pointing out that Johnny could be working against Sharon in a bid to keep mum Linda out of prison.

Is Sharon set to face prison for a murder she hasn’t committed, or could she end up telling the truth in order to save herself?
