He was concerned and jumped to conclusions thinking it was health related and that she had dementia.

However Yolande’s reaction nearly broke him and she couldn’t get the words out so she asked Elaine Peacock to tell him what Pastor Clayton did to her.

The scenes that followed saw Patrick’s devastation and fury, storming across the Square to beat some justice out of pervert Clayton.

But Yolande, terrified that she could lose Patrick, ran after him and stopped him, taking him home so they could talk.

Heartbreaking scenes saw Patrick question her about the Pastor’s manipulative behaviour, and she thought he was blaming her.

Furious Yolande got her voice back and told him: “Do you think I led him on?

“He should have stayed the hell away from me. How dare you Patrick? How dare you blame me?

“That man, he used his power and position to manipulate and violate me. To make me think that I was unreasonable and not him.

“He thought he had every right to do with me as he pleased as if he was God himself.”

She raged at years of being told to let men get away with their predatory behaviour, putting Patrick firmly in his place.

“I know now that no man has the right to do as he pleased with my body,” she told him.

“No man. Do you hear me?”

Yolande began washing up and Patrick went to quietly join in and he managed to break the tension by making her laugh, and the pair managed to get through the trauma.

The chat left them both deciding to stay in Walford – and take on Clayton and get him out of his job.

“It’s not us who should leave, it’s him,” Yolande said as she decided to speak to the church.

Fans were blown away by the episode and called it the “greatest ever”.

One wrote: “What a stellar performance from Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker.”

A second said: “What a beautiful episode. The gorgeous little light hearted moments sprinkled into the dramatics worked so so well.

“Angela and Rudolph performed phenomenally together, and equally glad Elaine wasn’t there to tell Patrick in person so it was just Patrick and Yolande the entire episode.”

Another added: “Just incredible. This episode felt like such a journey, steered excellently by Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker.”
