Soaps’ raciest ever moments – naked van romp, bunny outfit and saucy roleplay
The cobbles of Coronation Street and Albert Square in Walford might not sound like the sexiest locations ever, but they provided the perfect backdrop for soap couples to get it on
Since soaps tend to air before the watershed, fans don’t tend to expect many racy antics.
But over the years, some of our favourite soap couples have stripped off for some fade-to-black lovemaking, while others showed a little more than viewers bargained for on TV. For Emmerdale stars Emma Atkins and Lawrence J Robb, one of their scenes wasn’t allowed to be shown pre-watershed as it was simply too raunchy.
Their van romp had to be re-shot from a different angle with the camera further away, as it failed a compliance for a pre-watershed show. Emma told Loose Women: “So the guy who owned the van, he was shaking it. We all got told to just shake the van so then we went for it.
“And then obviously the director came over and went, ‘compliance have said no’. So they had to do a huge wide shot from the field.” Lawrence left Denise Welch in hysterics with his impression of the moment – and fans too.
Van striptease
In the back of a van, the pair struggled to keep their hands off each other as they stripped off, but Luke Britton soon turned up and interrupted the gals – who were in just their bras for the racy moment. Their affair proved one of the sauciest in soap history, with one social media user tweeting at the time: “Kana [Kate and Rana] in the van was the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Bunny costume
Over in Hollyoaks, the moment that secured Jorgie Porter’s place as a soap sex symbol came in the racier spin-off Hollyoaks Later. One outrageous sex scene saw her character Theresa dress up in a bra and tiny skirt that looked to be made of whipped cream.
She added a pair of bunny ears and a striped scarf around her neck to impress love interest Joel back in 2012. Jorgie, however, was under strict instructions to keep her boobs covered – from her mum.
She told The Sun: “I told my mum what I was going to be doing and she said, ‘You do what you think is necessary, but at the end of the day don’t get your nipples out!’ I’ve seen the pictures from the really rude bits and they’re quite shocking.”
Saucy roleplay
Back in Weatherfield, fans were left claiming it was “too much information” when Sally and Tim spoke about their sex life – including some very saucy roleplay confessions.
Sally told Fiz: “Tim and I have been experimenting for quite a while now. Role playing, so last week Tim was an airline pilot and I was an air hostess – long haul obviously – and I was married to an older man who went away…
“Then we found ourselves alone in the cockpit… Tim had found this pilot’s outfit in a charity shop. I’ve been a nurse, everyone starts there. And Tim’s been a plumber and a dentist! I was a driving instructor and that was really naughty…”
Raunchy blunder
In Walford, EastEnders fans were left disgusted during Stacey’s affair with Jack, as the pair lay naked in bed together. Viewers worried about some accidental voyeurism going on, with one pointing out: “What I don’t get is that these are small houses. Stacey’s house is full of kids, then there’s Jean, Eve and Suki. So why hasn’t anyone there noticed what they are doing?”
Another added: “Got to laugh how Stacey has time or space to have an affair with Jack. There’s about 74 people living in that house. Where’s her kids supposed to be? Not with Martin as he’s in Australia.”
Barn bonks
Emmerdale has seen its fair share of sex scenes, especially during the early days of Robron’s affair. Aaron and Robert got it on in a variety of inventive places, including inside a car and a port-a-loo.
One of their most notorious romps took place in the barn, seeing the shirtless couple covered in straw and cementing them as one of the best couples in soap history. They weren’t the only ones to use the farm as a backdrop for their romping, however, as Andy and Chrissie were also spotted half-naked amongst the hay bales, with Chrissie showing off her stockings.

In 2017, things got heated in Albert Square as Lauren Branning – played by I’m A Celeb star Jac Jossa – stripped to her stockings and dressing gown to reignite the spark with boyfriend Steven Beale.
In raunchy scenes, she brought out spicy chips and dips to literally spice things up between them, stripping out of her robe to expose her elegant lingerie to the world. But things got awkward when Jane and Stacey turned up to ask Lauren to babysit – interrupting the half-naked couple.
Steven was forced to use a pillow to cover his bulge during the awkward moment as Lauren jumped off him – flashing her stockings in the process.
