Stacey Solomon shares ‘lazy’ home hack that makes cleaning up so much easier – and people are hailing it ‘genius’

Stacey recently transformed her greenhouse at Pickle Cottage

LIKE many mums during the half term holidays, Stacey Solomon revealed her home quickly became messy and needed tidying.

The Loose Women host, 34, uploaded a video to her Instagram Stories showing her cleaning her kitchen – but it was her unusual dishwasher hack that grabbed attention.

Many fans were quick to comment on the novel way Stacey stacked her dishes in the racks.

Instead of opening the dishwasher door and filling it with her dirty items, she instead removed the racks, placed them on the countertop near the mess, and loaded it there.

Once they were full, she added them back in and turned the machine on.

Stacey said in the clip: “I really did what I said I was going to do today and just did nothing.

“I had a little nap and everything.

“The house has gone to ruin but it’s okay, it’s Sunday and I was tired.

“I am going to give it a good clean now.”

After using her unusual dishwasher method, the kitchen at her £1.2million Pickle Cottage was left gleaming.

Stacey wrote: “Calm is restored – while they sleep anyway.

“Feels so good, tomorrow me will be so grateful for tonight me.”

Fans couldn’t let her rack hack slide, and were quick to message Stacey with their thoughts.

One person wrote: “I have literally never thought of taking the racks out the dishwasher to load them up – genius!”

Another added: “Omg Stacey, why have I never thought to take the dishwasher trays TO the mess?”

Stacey was amused by all the comments, and replied in a video.

The mum-of-five explained: “So many of you are messaging me the same thing.

“Do you know what, right, as I get older I get lazier and try and find more and more ways of having to do less, to make less effort.

“I just think why bend down to put things in the dishwasher when you can just whip the trays and do it on the side?”

She recently shared how she had transformed her greenhouse from looking derelict to being a stylish outdoor space.

The Loose Women star loves a good DIY project – and now Stacey has come to rescue to help Britons on her latest TV venture, Renovation Rescue.

The new series, which airs on Channel 4, follows the home interiors fanatic helping people who have encountered bad builders.

Whether it’s bricklaying or basic plumbing, Stacey has been getting stuck into the projects herself too and sharing tips she has picked up while renovating her £1.2million home, Pickle Cottage.

The former X Factor star, who’s married to Joe Swash, is mum to Zachary, 15, Leighton, 11, Rex, five, Rose, two and one-year-old Belle.

On the show, Stacey joked she is better at DIY than her husband, saying he is ”not handy at all”.

She chuckled: ”It’s probably best that we keep the DIY projects just to one person – that person being me.

”Because I’m much better at it than Joe.”
