Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) has been taking steroids as part of his bid to bulk up in EastEnders, but he is soon set to face one of the negative side effects.
The teen was left feeling self-conscious of his body after a showdown with bully Logan, and has since become obsessed with fitness and building his strength.
After learning about anabolic steroids, Denzel purchased some, much to the horror of best friend Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), who was quick to point out the dangerous side effects.
With his fitness videos attracting attention online, Denzel has started collaborating with influencer Ebony – leaving girlfriend Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) less than impressed.
In upcoming scenes, Amy grows jealous of Denzel and Ebony’s budding friendship, and confides in half-sister Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) that she wants to take her relationship to the next level and sleep with him.
Penny is quick to warn her not to do anything before she’s ready, but Amy later heads to Denzel’s party and asks him to spend some time alone with her upstairs.
As the pair prepare to sleep together, Denzel is left distressed when he has difficulties because of his steroid use.
Amy tries her best to make him feel better, but in his embarrassment he tries to cover and ends up offending her.
Things only get worse for the couple when Nugget finds an upset Amy in McKlunky’s and ends up trying to kiss her.
When Penny insists that both Denzel and Nugget should be held accountable for their behaviour, Amy tries to talk to them, only for Nugget to twist things by telling Denzel that it was Amy who kissed him.
Furious, Denzel breaks up with her, leaving her completely devastated. Is this the end for Amy and Denzel?
