Strictly’s Bobby Brazier confirms EastEnders return date – and it’s sooner than fans think
EastEnders' Freddie Slater hasn't been seen in Albert Square since October but now actor Bobby Brazier has shared an update on when fans can expect him to return to screens
Bobby Brazier has confirmed when he is returning to EastEnders.
The actor, 20, has portrayed Freddie Slater since 2022. Last year, Bobby took a break from the soap to take part in Strictly Come Dancing, where he reached the final with Dianne Buswell.
The soap star has also been taking part in the show’s live tour, which wrapped up earlier in the month. This has left fans wondering when he will be returning to the role of Freddie – and thankfully it’s soon.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, Bobby announced he would be resuming filming on Monday (February 19). Soaps typically film around six weeks in advance of their schedule air date, meaning fans will likely see Freddie back on their screens in early April.
Freddie was last seen in October 2023, fleeing Walford in the back of a taxi after attacking Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis). When Freddie walked in on Theo attempting to rape Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), he beat the teacher unconscious with an iron.
Stacey and Freddie lied to the police, claiming the youngster attacked Theo because he was armed with a wrench. Freddie was arrested for attempted murder but later released on bail.
Agreeing with Jean’s (Gillian Wright) suggestion that he may need time away from the Square, Freddie decided to go and live with his mum Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth) for a while. But it appears Freddie will be ready to return to Walford in the coming weeks.
It comes after Bobby addressed his relationship status with Strictly co-star and winner Ellie Leach following weeks of a rumoured romance. It was originally believe that the former Coronation Street actress, 22, and her partner Vito Coppola were an item, but she was spotted cosying up to Bobby on the Strictly tour.
It was also reported the duo had enjoyed a number of secret dates. “Ellie is a sweetheart, look at her…she’s beautiful, she’s amazing, she’s good at what she does,” Bobby said on the London Hilton red carpet at the TV Choice Awards.
He continued to The Sun: “She’s a good dancer. She is a lovely, lovely friend of mine.” Grilled further about whether something more could be blossoming, Bobby added: “I don’t know…you’ll have to see what she says.”
