Tensions between Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and daughter Penny (Kitty Castledine) worsen in EastEnders next week.
As viewers of the BBC One soap know, things have been tense between the pair ever since Jack’s youngest daughter Amy (Elle Dadd) was seriously injured during a dangerous overcrowding incident at Peggy’s.
Since then she’s spent a number of weeks hospitalised after suffering a cardiac arrest and has been required to use of a wheelchair to aid her recovery.
As manager of Peggy’s, Penny has so far taken the full blame for the incident – unaware that Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) was the one responsible for overselling tickets, hoping to sabotage her position.
Jack has struggled to comprehend his daughter’s apparent actions, whilst his former partner Denise (Diane Parish) has urged Chelsea to tell the truth.

In upcoming scenes, Amy’s round the clock care at home becomes overwhelming, as well as having to run the house singlehandedly.
Penny offers to chip in, and after some deliberation he agrees to allow her to go over to No. 27 to support her half-sister.
The visit really lifts Amy’s mood, and Jack is pleased by the outcome. However, things quickly turn sour when he makes a tactless comment towards Penny that triggers a massive row between them.
With the weight of the truth looming large over her, Denise makes it her mission to sort things out between them both.
After working to bring them together at Denzel’s (Jaden Ladega) 16th birthday bash, Jack expresses his gratitude and makes an emotional speech about how much she’s done for their family.
But what will happen when he finds out she’s been lying?
