Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) enjoyed catching up with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) during his return to Walford in EastEnders.
Harvey and Jean (Gillian Wright) had been on holiday in Greece after a difficult period in their relationship. The taxi driver made a sudden return tonight though and informed Kathy that he was back to help Stacey (Lacey Turner) with childcare.
In the pub, Harvey chatted to Kathy and revealed he hadn’t heard from Jean a great deal since being back.
The two characters had a lovely evening gossiping, but things then took a dramatic turn when a young man stole Kathy’s bag and ran out of the pub.
Just as the youth left, he knocked a bar stool over and injured Kathy’s leg.
As Penny (Kitty Castledine) and Harvey looked after Kathy, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) walked back into the Queen Vic with Kathy’s bag. He had chased after the young man and was more than happy to be hailed a hero as he handed it back.
A while later, Kathy and Harvey were in the café. Harvey helped Kathy by tidying up but was then spotted by Kat (Jessie Wallace), and she was suspicious.
Harvey said he’s just friends with Kathy, but Kat couldn’t help comment on the fact he said that exact same thing when Maya (Bharti Patel) entered his life.
Jean was upset to learn that Harvey had been hiding the fact he was giving money to Maya as a way of trying to make up for his son Aaron Monroe (Charlie Wernham) beating up her husband in a racist attack in 2021.
After telling Harvey she wasn’t sure if she could be with someone she doesn’t trust, she bid her family a temporary goodbye to spend time with Sean.
Jean and Harvey’s relationship remains in a difficult place as a result of this – is Harvey taking a massive risk by growing closer to Kathy?
