Traumatised Amy returns – and ‘seals’ the end for EastEnders’ Chelsea and Penny
Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadds) looks set to seal the fate of her sister Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) and step-sister Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) in EastEnders next week, as the police dig further into the recent club crush.
The Walford teen was seriously injured during the dangerous overcrowding incident at Peggy’s, spending the last few weeks in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.
A traumatised Amy is still dealing with the impact of her injuries next week, struggling to cope with the physical and emotional toll.
But her father Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is relieved to hear she is well enough to be discharged from hospital.
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) tries to reassure estranged husband Jack and stepdaughter Amy she will be OK, all the while nursing her own guilt over concealing daughter Chelsea’s involvement in the crush.
As fans know, Chelsea inadvertently caused the crush by making more tickets to a club night available online as she tried to sabotage Penny for stealing her job as manager. As a result, Penny is facing criminal charges, as the police have found evidence of alteration to the ticketing platform on the club computer.
Buckling under the weight of her guilt, she opened up to mum Denise, who encouraged her to speak up but agreed to keep her secret.
Chelsea is pleased next week when Denise tells her that Amy is heading back. However, Denise soon cuts her down to size by laying bare the nightmare that Jack and Amy are going through because of her actions.
Later in the week, Denise and Chelsea join the Brannings at The Vic for a welcome home drink for Amy, but she finds it hard to be there as she’s so traumatised.
