The truth about Eddie Knight and Henry Kofi Asare has been revealed on EastEnders in a shocking and heartbreaking twist.

On tonight’s episode of the BBC soap, Eddie Knight and Gloria Knight arrived at the Queen Vic to speak about what happened in the past. Over the past few days, it has transpired that Eddie is being friendly with his son because he needs a character witness in court as he’s up for a murder charge for the racially motivated murder of a man called Henry Kofi Asare.

Tonight, the truth was revealed about who the man was and his connection to the Knights. As Elaine and Gloria went upstairs to chat, George and Eddie had no idea that Gina and Anna were listening on the stairs.

Speaking about what happened to Henry Kofi Asare, George quizzed him on who the man was and what happened to him, after revealing Henry had been killed and stuffed in a suitcase, before being thrown in a canal. When George pressed what the police had on him given that they were taking it to trial, George insisted he never had heard of him.

“Are you sure you don’t recognise him? Go on, have a proper look,” George pressed, before adding: “Well either you had your eyes closed that night or you’re getting forgetful in your old age because I do. I recognise him, because I was there.”

Unbeknownst to Eddie, it was confirmed tonight that George saw all that had happened and what they had been saying to the man and ran all the way home in tears, hiding over the duvet after seeing such a heinous act.

Eddie then told him he was mistaken, but George said he was 15 and he remembered it all and how Eddie and his mates were scrapping with a man, with the truth about Henry Kofi Asare finally being revealed. Gloria had asked Eddie to get rid of George’s dad in any way he could, thus leading to the devastating murder of George Knight’s biological father, Henry Kofi Asare.

Fans rushed to social media to praise the incredible episode, with one writing: “What an episode, was glued to every word. Some real hard hitting, topical, emotional stuff and it has to be said an excellent script. George Knight has to be one of the best new characters introduced in EE in recent years, and Colin Salmon is excellent,” whilst a second added: “Colin Salmon is a national treasure after today’s episode. Exceptional acting from both men.” A third shared: “amazing ep, incredible performance from Colin Salmon, love how they just held the camera on him while George told Eddie what he saw.”
